Truck Load / Unload
As a load and unload volunteer, you will help students load percussion equipment, large wind instruments, props, uniforms, and other essentials onto the trucks at Rampart, then unload everything at the event venue.
After the performance, you will assist with reloading the trucks at the venue and unloading again once back at Rampart.
Depending on this year’s show design, some light prop assembly may be needed after unloading at the venue. This will be determined once the props are built.
For football games, we typically load at Rampart from 3:00–4:00 PM and unload at the stadium around 4:30 PM. During the 3rd and 4th quarters of the game, we load as much as possible, finish loading after the game, and then unload at Rampart when we return, usually between 9:00–10:00 PM.
On competition days, timing will vary based on the performance schedule. Volunteers are generally needed at Rampart from about 8:00–9:00 AM to load, at the venue from around 11:00 AM–12:00 PM to unload, later in the evening between 8:00–10:00 PM to reload at the venue, and finally from 10:00 PM–midnight to unload back at Rampart.
You are welcome to sign up for any or all of the four shifts per event. There is no need to commit to the entire day.
