Uniforms Volunteer Info

Uniforms

Uniform volunteers can commit from as little as an hour of ironing, to as much as day-long competition help.

There are some positions that don’t require fingerprinting, and we can sign off on volunteer hours for students. If you love getting to know these awesome teens, this is the most fun place to do it! Opportunities throughout the school year tend to look like this:

July (Band Camp)–measuring, sorting, fitting, labeling, and ironing uniforms to get them ready for the season. If you are type A and love to make sense of chaos, this is the job for you! We have opportunities both during the day and in the evening (after work).

August-October Football Games–arrive early to help students into their uniforms and troubleshoot wardrobe malfunctions.

September-October Competitions–similar to football games, but a longer commitment. (This can be done in shifts as needed.) Competitions involve prelims in the afternoon and finals in the evening, so we go through the cycle of dressing/undressing twice. At the end of the night we help load trucks and make sure everything gets back to its rightful place at the school.

November–post marching season cleanup–wash uniforms, organize and store for next season.
